Applications for Canadian permanent residency under three federal economic immigration program are now processed using an internet system called Express Entry, which the Canadian government introduced in 2015.

For competent individuals who have previously worked in Canada and want to stay there indefinitely, this option is for you.
Your educational and professional experience, together with your language skills, are used to build an express entry profile. If your profile fits one of the above-mentioned federal economic immigration schemes, you may apply for expedited processing via Express Entry.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) under express entry is used to rank candidates in the pool according to their skills, job offer, provincial nomination, personal profile, and language proficiency.
Aside from this, provinces have their own provincial nominee program via which they choose qualified candidates for their local labour markets from the express entry pool.
Top-ranked candidates are issued offers to apply for permanent residency (ITA). An IRCC draw takes place every two weeks to establish the CRS cut-off point. If an express entry application does not get an ITA after 12 months, they will have to re-enter the pool and establish a new profile.
You must apply for permanent residency within 90 days of getting an ITA if you want to be eligible for a green card (Immigration and Citizenship Act). Within six months or less, more than 80% of applications are processed by IRCC.
